A Little Bit About The Theme

In case you haven’t noticed, this blog has a theme! See that little sheep shaped like a letter ‘o’ running about the top of the screen? That’s my mascot. His name is Baa. That’s easy to remember. He will remind you about my Baa values as well. Anyway, to show you guys how serious I am about this blog, I even asked my girlfriend, an aspiring female designer, to create a logo for me.

The Theme
Yes, it’s a sheep theme. "Baa.. baa.. black sheep, have you any wool?" (Sheepish grin).

My Source of Inspiration
I was reading this book on Neuro-linguistic Programming by Tony Robbins, "Unlimited Power", when I came across a line in which he talked about how most of us often led our lives moving along with the herd. That nailed it.

Introducing the Main Characters
I believe that in life, each of us belong to one of these three groups of people.
1) The Herd
If you are someone here, you belong to the crowd, the masses. You are a trend follower. You like the sense of security of sticking together with others like you. You may have aspirations, but you tend to be caught within your own fences – your limiting beliefs.

You tell yourself one of the following:
"I’m never gonna make it big."
"Top salesperson for 3 consecutive months? Impressive! If only I’m half as good as him."
"Me? CEO of this company? That is so impossible."
"I’m happy as long as I’m paid each month."
"I wish I could be amazing like Adam. He’s a millionaire by 26. I’m nobody."
Ever heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy? You let yourself be manipulated by external influences. To you, life is about living "as it is".

2) The Shepherd
Someone here will have attained a certain level of authority and a measurable amount of success. You are in control.

You are one who rears the sheep. They are at your mercy. Or so you thought. You might be a top manager, or a CEO of a multinational company. However, you are restrained by the herd as much as they are by you. You are constantly living with the fear of losing your sheep. You just don’t realize. Somewhere in the process of achieving success, you got lost. You lost sight of what’s important to you and blindly guard the herd that you painstakingly raised.

3) The Lost One
Adventurous and courageous. You are a trend starter. You like to bend the rules. Not the laws, mind you. You are able to break through your own limiting beliefs and fears by jumping over the fence. And you are a source of inspiration.

For that one leap you made, you are now able to taste the greens of far bigger pastures and live a life without regrets. People used to call you the lost sheep, the dropout. Now, who’s the lost one here?

And My Point?
The point that I’ll like to drive across is this. If you want to be lost, be lost with style. Like the Lost One. Don’t be mistaken here. By calling him lost, it just means that he’s a lost sheep from the herd. He’s not directionless. He has a plan – to reach the bigger and greener pastures. What’s your take from here? To be part of the herd? The shepherd. Or… The Lost One?
